PUBG 2: All you need to know – features, Release date, compatibility, and more
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was one of the first stand-alone battle royale games. While its popularity has dwindled in the aftermath of significant releases like Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, PUBG remains the only game that delivers realistic gameplay in a modern context. Fans will soon see the global release of its sequel, PUBG 2.
It goes without saying that Brendan Greene’s game is getting a sequel. The game, informally known as PUBG 2, is said to be in the works and will be based on the foundations laid down by the prior game. Read more Krafton planning to launch PUBG 2 by next year: Here’s all you need to know
What is the release date of PUBG 2?
The release date for PUBG 2 has been scheduled for late 2022. The devs don’t yet have a release date, but Krafton has confirmed that the game is in the works.
Kim Chang-Han, Krafton’s CEO, told Bloomberg in January 2021 that the company was planning to release a new mobile title (which turned out to be PUBG: New State), a PUBG-related game next year, and a survival horror game in 2022 (now confirmed as the Callisto Protocol) that would depict the “PUBG universe three centuries into the future.” Hence, fans can assume that PUBG 2 is surely releasing in the second half of 2022.
What is the compatibility of PUBG 2? – Platform support
So far, Krafton has been tight-lipped on the sequel, so we don’t know what platform the game will be launched on. However, given that the last sequel was scheduled for release on both PC and console, we might anticipate the same here.
With that in mind, and in light of the platforms already available for PUBG, we believe that PUBG 2 will be launched for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Features
Nothing much has been known about the upcoming features in PUBG 2. However, opting for an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 may result in improved graphics and possibly new elements in PUBG.
Hence, players can expect a much more realistic life-like environment with better details in texture. A special weapon customization feature may also be added to enhance the gameplay experience of the player.
