With the recent updates rolled out, your favourite Meta apps have marked the debut of the Meta AI, which is powered by the Llama 3. Instagram is also one of them. Although the Meta AI can be your go-to guide for every single task, it can also be unreliable and annoying at times. Meanwhile, can we shut it off from Instagram?
Instagram’s Meta AI is also intrusive, but not completely, as it only appears when the user tries to engage with this AI chatbot through the search bar. It presents the AI suggestions alongside a Meta AI logo denoted by a magnifying glass.
When you tap on an AI suggestion, this will open up the AI chatbot. It recollects the data, so you can always pick where you last left. However, like other Meta apps, there’s no way to disable the Meta AI on Instagram completely. Meanwhile, ignoring or muting your conversations with the Meta AI is the only way.
Here’s how to mute Meta AI on Instagram:
- Enter Instagram and swipe to the right side to open your Chats section.
- Here, tap on the Meta AI icon at the top right corner of the Search bar.
- Once opened, tap on the ‘i’ button at the top right.
- Select the Mute option
- Please tap on the Mute messages toggle to turn it on.
- Choose the Until I change it option from the list of time duration.
