PUBG Mobile is a global phenomenon that has dominated the battle royale industry single-handedly. It has been so popular that sometimes the term ‘battle royale’ has been referred to as PUBG. However, the title might get a rebranding soon.

This article shares every detail that players need to know about the rebranding of PUBG Mobile to PUBG Battlegrounds Mobile. Rumors say that the logo might also get a total revamp.

PUBG Mobile will be rebranding its title to PUBG Battlegrounds Mobile

Probably many already know about the ownership of the name PLAYER UNKNOWN’S is now fully owned by Brendan Greene who is the original creator of this game. Brendan Greene believes the PLAYER UNKNOWN’S name he coined could give him good luck even though he is no longer with Krafton.

The term PUBG implies Player Unknown’s Battleground, however, Krafton would no longer be using the implied meaning under the term ‘PUBG’. Krafton will alter the logo as well as the brand name to PUBG Battlegrounds Mobile.

But, the question is if PUBG doesn’t mean Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, then what will it actually mean? The question is unanswered as Krafton would not like to change this abbreviated name even though the title ownership is owned by Brandon Greene. The title is such a massive success that changing the name from PUBG to any other title may cause to a heavy revenue loss for Krafton.

Although the reason behind the rebranding is not clear yet as there has been no official notice from neither Brendan Greene nor Krafton. Players might see this change from the year 2022.
