OnePlus’s Four-year Android Update Commitment Isn’t For OnePlus 11R flagships

In December 2022, OnePlus announced a new software update policy for select smartphones starting in 2023. At the Cloud 11 launch event, the Chinese tech maker revealed that the OnePlus 11 5G would be the first to get the four future Android OS versions. On the flip side, the OnePlus support team recently officially announced the latest 11R also gets the same software update cycle.

But now, the support team has clarified in a previous tweet that OnePlus’ four-year Android update commitment doesn’t apply to the OnePlus 11R flagship, which is India-exclusive.

OnePlus 11R 5G confirmed to get three Android OS and four years of security updates:

In a recent tweet to reply to a user, OnePlus clarified its previous tweet saying that OnePlus 11R devices will receive 3 years of major Android updates and 4 years of security updates, respectively, and that the company was wrong. Responsible for communication. Apologize.
