‘Sunbird’ is a messaging app, and there is a scheme to bring iMessage to Android, but it temporarily shut down the service due to security concerns.

Sunbird is an iMessage application for Android smartphones, but unfortunately, due to various major security and privacy concerns, it opted to shut down the application. However, it is not clear yet when it will be shut down. This is being speculated by 9to5Google.

Regarding this report, Sunbird states that it has decided to pause Sunbird usage for now because it is investigating reports which are stating that its messages are not genuinely end-to-end encrypted, which is the actual concern.

Meanwhile, a couple of days ago, Sunbird shook hands with the brand ‘Nothing’ at the launch event of Nothing Chats. Also, the Sunbird-powered messaging service is supposed to permit the owners of Phone (2) to send texts through iMessage, but it was pulled from the Google Play Store, even within two days after the launch.

At the moment of time, Nothing stated that it had to fix several bugs within the application. At the same time, Sunbird launched in 2022 as a messaging application which attempts to put the blue versus green bubble to rest. Sunbird also states that it found more than 630,000 files accessible through this vulnerability, where Sunbird had assured that data was not stored on its own servers technically true since the data was stored through Firebase.
