Consumers now prefer Intel’s 13th-generation processors, which were first introduced to the market in late 2022. Processors from the cheap Raptor Lake series are known for their outstanding performance. There is also a plethora of affordable 13th-generation CPUs available, making them excellent options for consumers who are cost-conscious.

By 2023, Intel will be concentrating on serving mobile consumers in addition to its 13th-generation Core desktop chips. The whole mobile stack—from ultra-portable U-series processors to desktop replacement-class HX-series CPUs—is now covered by the 13th-generation Core mobile family, which is based on the Raptor Lake architecture. Along with including new functionality for the platform as a whole, these processors carry forward Raptor Lake’s improvements to the CPU architecture.

With up to 24 CPU cores (8P+16E) and desktop-level performance, the flagship 13th-generation Core HX-series processors are designed for high-performance notebooks. These CPUs are based on Intel’s desktop silicon (Raptor Lake-S) and are intended for DTR-class laptops, which are usually equipped with a discrete GPU. They have turbo clock speeds of up to 5.6 GHz, a turbo TDP of 157 W, and a base TDP of 55 W.

A more potent integrated GPU, support for LPDDR5 memory, and fewer cores make the enthusiast-level H-series processors better suitable for mobile use. They are also optimized for high-performance laptops. In addition, Intel released the P-series and U-series CPUs, which are tiny and light and compromise on performance and power to enable Raptor Lake in ever-lighter laptops.
