Realme has incorporated its latest 12 Pro 5G with an IP65 rating, significantly protecting the device from splashes and dust. In contrast, following the tradition of some big brands, several Android brands have introduced their devices with an IP or Ingress Protection rating, which means the device is protected against liquid ingress like water splashes and solid ingress like dust.
The smartphone is IP certified when tested within controlled laboratories, while the first digit following the IP rating is for solid ingress, and if it’s 6, then the device is said to be dustproof. On the other hand, if the last digit within the IP rating is 8, that means the device is fully waterproof. Simultaneously, the Realme 12 Pro comes with an IP65 rating, which only makes it a true water-resistant device, but it’s not waterproof, so the device can easily handle some accidental water splashes and dust. In contrast, the IP rating can vanish with some normal wear and tear, and also, no phone is being made a truly waterproof device.
