Spread the love

Google has just released the latest feature drop for its Pixel devices. The new March 2024 Pixel Feature Drop brings numerous new features and updates that will significantly make your Pixel device even more helpful. The latest Feature Drop comes with certain updates that include improvements to Call Screen for Pixel phones, expanded health and fitness features for the first-gen Pixel Watch, and new productivity tools for Pixel tablets, respectively. It’s important to note that Google has begun rolling out these new features and updates to eligible Pixel devices running Android 14.

For Pixel Phones:

Improvements to the Call Screen

With the update, the Call Screen feature is now better, allowing you to initiate a call while the caller is silent. With the update, if the caller is not responding to your call, you will see a “Hello” word. During screening the call, you just have to tap on the button, and then Google Assistant will provide a prompt for the caller to speak. This way, you will be able to understand the reason behind their calling. In case you didn’t answer the call screening at the moment, Google Assistant will ask the caller to wait sometimes because they are trying to reach you.

On the flip side, the Improvements to Call Screen feature is available for the Pixel devices, including the Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel Fold, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7a, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6, respectively.

Incredible photos and video experiences on Instagram

The latest feature drop comes with a 10-bit HDR video or ultra-HDR photo on Instagram. Now you will be able to capture the 10-bit HDR videos directly on your Instagram reels while also allowing you to seamlessly upload and share some stunning yet beautiful Ultra HDR pictures on your Instagram feed. It’s currently available for Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel Fold, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel 7 devices.

Pixel 7 series gets a circle to search

The most recent Circle to Search will soon be available for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro devices. This will allow you to get more useful and required information without having to switch apps. For this, just long press on the Pixel’s Home button or the navigation bar, then circle, scribble, or simply highlight the image, and you will get all the information regarding the image right away from where you are.

The first-generation Pixel Watch gets new features.

More options for tracking your workout sessions

The first-gen Pixel Watch gets the new Pace Training feature, which allows you to set a goal pace for your running exercise and tells you when you are about to reach your target through the built-in GPS and motion sensors.

Another feature is Heart Zone Training, which monitors your personal heart rate zones on the basis of your rating heart rate and fitness levels, which will help and guide you in your workout sessions.

This update also brings a redesigned workout user interface that brings bigger texts along with bright colors. This will certainly allow you to catch a glimpse of your workout sessions. In addition, the first-generation Pixel watch also has the ability to auto-start or auto-stop, so you don’t have to manually start or stop your workout. The Pixel Watch will automatically begin and stop your workout when it detects that it has been completed. This flexibility is eligible for several workout sessions, including running, walking, elliptical, spinning, outdoor biking, treadmilling, and rowing.

Along with the above-mentioned features, the first-gen Pixel Watch brings a new breathing exercise when you want to calm and soothe your body and mind.

Access public transit directions conveniently on your wrist

With Google Maps on Wear OS, you will now be able to get the public transit direction right on your wrist. This will help you find your route with the best possible and different transit options, including an accurate departure time and a map view with the compass to take you to your desired destination.

For the Pixel portfolio:

Share your app screen with others

With the new app screen sharing feature, you can now share just what you want. Rather than showing your entire screen, you can share one app at a time while casting your screen, recording or presenting yourself on a video call on your Pixel tablet, and more. This feature is available on the devices, including the Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel Fold, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 6a, Pixel 5a (5G), and Pixel Tablet, respectively.

Quickly pair your Pixel devices.

You can now easily and quickly pair your devices that you have previously used with your account in your Connected Devices settings page. Also, you will now be able to access your previously set-up Bluetooth accessories on your new phone or tablet, and then Fast Pair will let you  connect your Pixel devices.

Google Docs Markup lets you provide your feedback using your finger or stylus.

With the Markup feature, Google Docs Markup will now allow you to write some handwritten annotations to your document or report by either using your fingers or stylus. You will get a wide range of tools that you can choose from, including several colors of pens and highlighters. This feature currently comes to the devices, including the Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel Fold, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 6a, Pixel 5a (5G), and Pixel Tablet, respectively.

An improved toolbar

Releasing those annoying digital keyboards that take up most of the space, the latest Feature Drop brings the new Gboard voice toolbar just for your Pixel tablet. This will allow you to have your conversations without the need to type your message. When you activate the voice input, the keyboard will turn itself into a toolbar, giving you more space for easy multitasking.
