Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Launched With New News Reporter Widget In India

After success of Nothing Phone (2a), Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is launched by the brand globally on 31 July. Phone (2a) Plus uses better specifications, including an updated chipset and a new 50 MP selfie camera. The device comes with two new colour options: Metallic Gray and Updated Black.

The device uses Dimensity 7350 Plus for the chipset, which is the biggest change for the brand so far. The new chip has an octa-core CPU with 2x Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 3.0 GHz and 6x Cortex-A510 units @ 2.0 GHz. The GPU uses the Mali-G610 MC4 unit, but it runs at 1.3 GHz. You can expect 10% faster CPU performance for Nothing devices and 30% faster and better performance in GPU-intensive tasks.
The software relies on Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14 with ChatGPT integration. The Phone (2a) Plus uses a new 50 MP front-facing lens for the camera. The rear camera has a video recording up to 30fps. This device has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen FHD+ at 120Hz refresh rate inside a punch-hole cutout.
The Phone (2a) Plus also has a 5,000 mAh battery with 50W wired charging support. It also has a new news Reporter widget that reads news aloud using the voice of CFO Tim Holbrow. The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus costs $399 for the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. It is up for pre-order starting today on Nothing. Tech.

The Phone (2a) Plus, on the other hand, is priced in India at 27,999($344) for the 8/256GB variant and Rs 29,999($358) for the 12/256GB variant and will go on sale via Flipkart starting August 7.
