By implementing a new software update, Realme has turned off its Enhanced Intelligent Services feature by default on the Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 Pro+. This happened after a Twitter user highlighted that this new feature collects personal data without permission. The Chinese tech giant has updated the software to automatically set off this feature, which users can manually enable if they want.
After installing this update, Enhanced Intelligent Services is turned off by default; users can choose to enable or disable it by going to Settings >> Additional Settings >> System Services >> Enhanced Intelligent Services. Read more
Moreover, this update also changes the service description in that the company does not “connect” any data on SMS, phone calls, and schedules, contrary to the “Enhanced Intelligent Services” description. Apart from this, this update also optimises the power consumption of the camera scene and improves the system’s stability.
Software information:
The Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 Pro Plus are receiving new firmware with the Realme UI versions RMX3771_13.1.0.524 (EX01) and RMX3741_13.1.0.524 (EX01), respectively. Users can also check availability by heading to Settings > About device >> Realme UI >> Download and Install.
Initially, Realme is slowly rolling out this incremental update in India. Hence, there might be a few days’ delays in the update distribution. Now, you see the new “Enhanced Intelligent Services” description below.
“‘Enhance Intelligence Service’ is an underlying service that supports device functions and improves your user experience based on how you use your device. To provide the Optimised charging feature, ‘Enhance Intelligence Service’ needs to process your location information and your usage statistic locally on your device as well as obtain the Location permission.”
