Xiaomi HyperOS Screenshots Leak: New Name For MIUI 15!
Recently, it’s been the headlines that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has made the announcement that the brand is dropping its most smart Android skin, MIUI, and replacing it with a new one known as HyperOS. The new Android skin HyperOS will be debuting on the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Series, gradually replacing the MIUI across the globe.
Meanwhile, a Telegram channel named Xiaomi HyperOS, which is not affiliated with Xiaomi, has shared APKs of several system apps from a recently leaked development build of the HyperOS having build number 23.9.28. Xiaomi generally uses the YY.M.DD format for its regular development builds, so it can be easily figured out that the ROM was built on September 28, 2023. These APKs can be easily sideloaded on devices running on MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13, in order to get a glimpse of what HyperOS will look like for the end users.
To begin with, the most significant tweaks were seen within the Wallpapers and Personalization section within the Settings app, which holds the Lock Screen submenu. On the new HyperOS, users will get to see a number of pre-made lock screen styles. In case you don’t like any of the styles, then you could be able to customize the lock screen as per your preference, just similar to what you can do in Android 14.
In Addition, the quick settings toggles, known as the Control Center on MIUI/HyperOS, have changed, as can be noticed through the screenshots.
The Security app has also been upgraded with the latest UI, and several other applications such as File Manager, Weather, Messages, Gallery, Calendar, and Clock also receive a new look. The Calculator app’s UI has also been upgraded and gets a refreshed new look.
Furthermore, there are other screenshots that show new charging animations, as shared by a user on Weibo. On the HyperOS, the status bar shows status tweaks for the battery and sound. Also, the first look at the HyperOS is a purported screenshot of the About Device section of the leaked build.
Wrapping up, these screenshots are just from an early HyperOS build, while there’s an exact chance that the stable version of HyperOS might come with further tweaks. As of now, HyperOS is largely on par with MIUI 15, regardless of what changes Xiaomi has made out of the box.
Other than that, some transition animations between the AOD and the lock screen are shared by the YouTuber Technobuzz. There are also new Always-on-Display styles on the new AOD system app.
Well-known MIUI developer Kasper Skrzypek says, “HyperOS is still MIUI, with APKs referring to MIUI 15 instead of HyperOS, though Xiaomi has removed references to “MIUI” and replaced them with “system” or “OS.”
In Addition, it’s been rumored that the HyperOS is set to launch on October 27, alongside the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series, which is going to debut in China.
