With that, Samsung seems to have upgraded its software update policy and has much better OS update promises for its recent devices, including its mid-range, budget-focused, and premium flagships, respectively. In contrast, for a long period of time, the older devices of Samsung usually get three major OS updates and three years of security patch updates commitment, while in 2022, the brand renewed its software update policy.

According to the new software update policy of Samsung with the Galaxy S21 FE included, the brand has significantly changed and upgraded its OS update policy for most of its devices, promising 4 major OS updates and 5 years of security patch updates, respectively. 

How many Software Update Will Samsung S21 FE Get?

On the flip side, the Galaxy S21 FE (Silicon 888 chipset), which comes within its highly-admired Fan Edition series, is not so expensive. Being a budget-focused Galaxy device, Samsung promises that the Galaxy S21 FE(Silicon 888 Chipset) will receive 4 major OS updates along with 5 years of security patch updates, respectively. 

This certainly means that since launching with Android 12-based One UI 4, out of the box, the device is eligible to receive its four major OS updates until Android 16, while on the flip side, it will get five years of security patch updates until 2027.
