Google Pixel 9 Gets Find My Device Upgrade in Android 15

  • Google is likely to bring a new Powered off Finding feature with the upcoming Android 15 update to its next Pixel 9 devices.
  • The upcoming Pixel 9 phones will be able to locate the device even when they are off thanks to this feature.
  • Also, Google Pixel 9 users will be able to use this new feature as soon as their device gets the latest Android 15 update.

Google has always ensured that users have the most useful yet convenient experience, bringing several impressive features and enhancements to its services. One such is its Find My Device capability. Simultaneously, Google’s Find My Device feature is too useful, but the majority of phones can’t use it when they are turned off. With that, now, with the arrival of Android 15, things might be changed, as Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 phones could be equipped with the flexibility that the device will seem to be tracked when it’s switched off.

While most of the phones are powered off, they stop receiving the Bluetooth network, which significantly prevents them from locating or tracking any lost device. Simultaneously, Google has solved this problem, and that’s where the Powered Off Finding feature will be considered as handy, as it will allow the phone to store some Bluetooth network in its memory, which will allow the phone to locate or track any device even when the phone is powered off, and it can easily find any lost Android device.

We expect the upcoming Android 15 to introduce several new and impressive features that will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of the Android ecosystem. Ultimately, this new Powered Off Finding feature is expected to be the most significant and latest inclusion of the upcoming Android 15, and Google will likely include it in its latest and upcoming Google Pixel 9 devices.

As of now, Google has already provided an early source code for Android 14 to those Android manufacturers who have registered for the Early Access Program. The code includes a new hardware abstraction layer, which is a pre-calculated fingerprint passkey that is going to be significantly transmitted to the phone’s Bluetooth chip, which will allow the phone to use the Powered Off Finding feature even when it’s turned off.
