Carl Pei has confirmed via X on Tuesday that Nothing will launch its first Community Edition smartphone later this month. The launch date of this new device is set for October 30, while the Nothing Phone 2a was launched earlier this year with MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC Pro. This upcoming smartphone offers a refreshing and user-centric approach to mobile technology.

Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition Details

The development of the Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition lasted more than six months and included four phases. The first phase focused on hardware design, the second on wallpaper, the third on packing, and the last on releasing marketing campaigns. What makes the Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition different from its predecessors and other smartphones in the market is the level of community involvement the brand has put into its creation.

In the Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition, the brand used a different design in which phosphorescence was used. It has a green finish on the back that glows in the dark. This design choice makes the phone visually unique and aligns with the company’s philosophy of making technology feel like a black box and more like an open, accessible tool. All the Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition Model features can be the same as the Phone 2a.

This device can use MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC for the chipset, and a 6.7-inch Full HD+, 1080 x 2412 pixels, AMOLED can be used for the display. The adaptive refresh rate of this device can be from 30 Hz to 120 Hz. It will have two 50 MP cameras on the back and a 32 MP selfie camera. The handset can have IP54 for dust and water resistance. The phone will have a 5000 mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. The phone can be officially launched in India at a price of Rs. 23,999 for 8 GB/128GB.
