The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is a next-generation mobile chipset that aims to deliver flagship-level performance, exceptional power efficiency, and cutting-edge connectivity. It brings several advanced features to premium smartphones, including all the latest technologies, such as a new ISP, NPU, and improved power efficiency.
MediaTek Dimensity 9400 For The Flagship Devices
MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is built on a 3nm process by TSMC, which is capable of improving performance. It sports the MediaTek 3.63 GHz CPU, positioned as architecture 1+3+4. It incorporates the Cortex-X925 for super-performance cores and is clocked at 3.63 GHz. It also features 3 Cortex-X4 units with a 3.3 GHz maximum frequency, while four Cortex-A720 units are also clocked at 2.4 GHz for efficiency.
This new MediaTek Dimensity 9400 offers a 15% increase in IPC, which, along with the clock speed boost, can deliver a 35% increase in single-core performance and a 28% improvement for multiple cores. The Immortals-G925 is also included for the GPU, and it runs at a frequency of 1612 MHz, which can deliver a 41% performance improvement, 40% faster ray tracing performance, and 44% power savings.
A dedicated NPU 890 is included for AI. It consumes 35% less power than its predecessors. This chipset is also equipped with a powerful ISP capable of supporting up to 200MP camera sensors. This Dimensity 9400 enables 4K HDR video recording and supports multi-frame noise reduction, AI color enhancement, and real-time HDR processing, delivering better video quality and more vibrant, true-to-life colors.
MediaTek Dimensity 9400 supports 8K video decoding. Additionally, this chipset is capable of driving 2K displays with a 144Hz refresh rate that can deliver a sharp and responsive visual experience. This chipset further enhances HDR10+ support video quality, also providing better contrast, brightness, and color accuracy when watching HDR content.
These AI-powered features are impressive for camera applications, as the APU enables AI-based scene recognition, object detection, and bokeh effects. This allows the device to intelligently adjust camera settings in real time, delivering optimal image quality in varying lighting conditions.
AI is also used for smart assistant applications, background noise reduction in calls, and real-time video effects while streaming. In November, this new chipset will be seen in the Oppo Find X8 and Vivo X200 series. However, the brand has not confirmed anything about it.
