The water repellent properties are denoted by an IP or the Ingress Protection rating, which is the standard industry level mark provided to a smartphone when it’s tested against two types of ingress, including Solid and Liquid, respectively. The IP rating consists of two digits: the first digit is for the solid ingress, which is fine dust or sand particles, while the second digit is for the liquid ingress, which is water. 

The first digit in an IP rating could reach a max from 0-6, while the second digit is from 0-8. This means that the higher the IP rating, the more protection there is. Meanwhile, the latest OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite supports an IP54 rating, which makes it water and dust-resistant. Here’s why-

With respect to the IP54 rating in the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite, the first digit is 5, which means that the device is only capable of handling the entry of some dust particles, and this does not make it a dustproof phone, while the second digit is 4, which offers the least amount of protection against water spills and splashes and this further means that the phone can only handle a few water drops splashing over it but not fully immersion of water. Thus, this concludes that the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is dust and water-resistant.
