Motorola has already started rolling out the Android 13 update to its Moto Edge 20 and Edge 30 series flagship phones. Now, the company has started rolling out the Android 13 major software update to the G-series smartphones, and the Moto G 5G is the first one under the G-series devices to receive the Android 13 update.
Users of Moto G 5G (2022) will be able to determine the Android 13 software update via the T1SA33.73-40 build version and need to install a 1.6GB package size. Alternatively, you can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA), and you will need to connect your device to Wi-Fi to download the update.
Moto G 5G (2022) is getting the June 2023 security update on the AT&T network in the US. The update is currently available for the locked variant of the Moto G 5G, though other countries may get the update in the coming days. In addition, the update also carries the latest security patch (not July 2023), released in April 2023, for improved safety and better reliability.
Android 13 Features:
The Android 13 upgrade for the Moto G 5G has gone live with several new features. The list of features and improvements includes app notification permissions, revamped Personalization panel with support for more colour palettes, an updated notification panel, revamped music player, Bluetooth LE audio support, a per-app language feature, and more.
How To Update:
- Swipe down from the Notification bar and choose Settings.
- Choose system and About phone.
- Scroll to and choose Android Version and TCL UI Version.
- If the Android and Baseband versions do not match the current update description, Update additions until they do.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update.
