Smart tech manufacturer Samsung always makes sure to provide a better and more intuitive environment to its Galaxy owners. Almost all of its flagship and mid-range devices sport a number of interesting features and technologies that make life easier and more convenient. One of the most interesting features that most Samsung smartphones feature is the IP68 rating, which renders them dust and water-resistant. We are here with a list of some Galaxy smartphones and tablets sporting IP68 ratings.

Meanwhile, before heading towards the eligible devices list, it’s essential to know about IP68 ratings. Moreover, the IP or the Ingress Protection rating is the industry-level certification mark for such devices that have been tested under controlled labs with the IEC 60529 standard and have received an IP certification. Overall, it’s an indication of the smartphone being dust or water-resistant. The first digit in an IP rating indicates the protection against solid components like sand or dust, while the last digit highlights the protection against liquid components like water.

IPX8 water resistance classification was tested by submerging the device at the maximum depth of 1.5m of fresh water for about 30 minutes, leaving it still, without any movement, in order to fulfill the requirements of IEC 60529 certification.

Now, coming to the IP68 ratings, the first digit following the IP ratings is 6. Then, the device has major protection against solid particles that are dust, making it a dust-resistant phone. Whereas the last digit, 8, indicates that the device is resistant to liquid components like water, which makes it water resistant. In addition, there is another IP rating as well, the IPX8 rating, which indicates that the device is not tested for liquid ingress and solid ingress.
