Google has always committed to making the entire Android ecosystem the most advanced and helpful in terms of features and functionalities. The company has just unveiled a new Instant Hotspot feature that allows users to seamlessly connect their Android tablet or Chromebook to their smartphone’s hotspot with a single tap. Meanwhile, Google recently stated that this latest Instant Hotspot feature will not be available on any Samsung device.

Google Instant Hotspot feature lets you instantly connect to other Android tablets or Chromebooks with just a single tap

Earlier, users had to follow a hassle process to connect their Wi-Fi-only Android tablets or Chromebooks to the internet. They needed their phone’s hotspot and had to enter their hotspot password to connect to their tablet or Chromebooks. Now, Google is making this hefty process much more accessible, with users able to instantly connect their Wi-Fi-only devices to their phone’s hotspot with just a single click.

Any Samsung device will not support the Instant Hotspot feature, though

Google’s new Android Instant Hotspot feature is a proper functionality that allows users to instantly share their Android phone’s hotspot with their Android Tablet or Chromebook, eliminating the need to enter a password. However, Samsung devices won’t be able to instantly share their internet connectivity with other non-Samsung tablets or Chromebooks. Still, Samsung phones can easily share their internet connection with Samsung tablets through its dedicated Auto Hotspot feature, thanks to the One UI.

Moreover, the new Instant Hotspot feature has been introduced as part of Google Play Services and is available on every Android smartphone, including Samsung’s models. However, the reason behind Samsung devices’ exclusion from using the latest Instant Hotspot feature remains unknown. Besides that, it’s possible that Samsung chose to opt out of this feature, while Samsung users can still connect their phones to Chromebooks through the existing Instant Tethering feature.
