Samsung One UI 7 Based On Android 15 Update is Delayed till 2025

Samsung has delayed the One UI 7 update to 2025, and the move will affect both users and developers along with the new features coming to the OS. This delay can also change Samsung’s update timeline, as many companies depend on it. Generally, the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series models and many other releases will also be delayed. 

This news was confirmed in Samsung’s opening speech for SDC 2024, which clearly stated that the Android 15 update will not be fully released until 2025. The official version of One UI 7 with many game-changing AI features will be released next year with the Galaxy S series. It is clear that One UI 7 will not come before Galaxy S25 launches.

The brand has revealed in a visualization of One UI 7 that Samsung is working on its all-new UX design with three goals in focus: simplicity with purpose, an impressive impact signature to the galaxy, and having more emotionality in the design. It’s clear that the brand is preparing to bring a lot of new things. 

However, this delay reflects both technical and strategic considerations on Samsung’s part. Android 15 is introducing several new features that will require deep integration with Samsung’s One UI layer to deliver a seamless and consistent user experience. Samsung’s One UI is one of the most robust Android skins that offers extensive customization and unmatched functionality. 

Samsung’s delay in Android 15 will likely impact the next version of its interface, One UI 7. The One UI 7 was expected to include several new features, possibly including improved multitasking capabilities, better integration with Samsung’s ecosystem, better privacy controls, and more detailed customization options.

On the other hand, Samsung has yet to release the first stable Android 14 build since its release in October last year. 

This means Samsung Galaxy users will have to wait for 4 months or even more for the latest version of Android to be delivered to their existing devices.
