Google Phone beta update brings scam detection

According to the report (Via 9To5Google), a new software update for Google Phone is live for testers. With the latest beta update, you will get a new SCME detection menu. When activated, it will provide more scams.

Scam Detection doesn’t activate automatically. To get the service, you will need to activate by following these steps:

  • First, open the Pixel phone app.
  • Here go to the settings
  • Here, choose the scam detection from the
  • Now tap on the slider button.

How does scam detection work?

After activating scam detection, you will not notice any direct screening of calls, but it will continue monitoring the call, whether scam or not. It will beep at the start of the call and every few minutes after to let the participants know that the call is being monitored. If something is detected, your phone will vibrate and make a noise to get you to check the screen. It will display “suspicious activity detected for this call.”.

Currently, the feature is spotted for those users who are using the beta beta application. If you are also using the beta upgrade, you will need to update the application to the latest update.
