Google Chat is rolling out audio Huddles Feature
Google unveiled this feature in August 2023 and is now adding an audio-first meeting feature called “Huddle” to Google Chat. The feature will soon be released as “instant-on.” Although the feature was present in Google+ as “Huddle,” Slack offers a similar capability.
Google Chat audio Huddles Feature
This feature will soon be seen in the top-right corner of the Google Chat version. In this, users can also start audio-first meetings with Huddles with a floating window displaying controls. In this, users will also be provided features in direct messages, group conversations, and spaces.
In this, recipients will be able to see a chat chip in the message threads themselves to know that the user has started a huddle. You will also have the ability to add video to it. Apart from this, users can also share their screen, and a toggle at the top lets you end the huddle quickly.
All these features are powered by Google Meet. Google Huddle also lets you share meeting details directly and easily through the chat instead of sending the meeting link to another device. It looks like it will support multitasking while in the chat, as users can easily resize their screen and share it as well.
