Google Meet recently added a new feature for Android devices

Google Meet recently released an update for its Android app, introducing a redesigned ‘Start a Call’ screen. The update aims to simplify the user experience, making it easier for users to start a meeting or start a call seamlessly. With this new update, Google Meet is striving to enhance its communication tools to meet the growing needs of remote workers, students, and professionals.

Google Meet “Start a Call” New Feature

This revamped’start a call’ screen offers a more streamlined and intuitive layout. Users can start a call directly from the home screen with fewer clicks, and when you tap on the “New” FAB, it takes you to a new “Start a Call” screen. Finally, you will find “Search or dial a contact” in a pill-shaped field, below which you can create a link. Apart from this, there are larger buttons to schedule and create a new group.

Google has focused on improving the user experience with this latest design. This new feature is built with a clean, modern technique. In the future, Google Meet’s new ‘Start a call’ screen can also be integrated with Google Calendar and Gmail. This change enables Google Meet to compete with other platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

As Google Meet evolves, user-centric improvements like these ensure that it remains a top choice for video conferencing across various industries. On the other hand, Google rolled out this homepage tweak and started a call feature for enterprise users in November last year. It is now visible to Google accounts as well with version 266 of Meet for Android.
