Google Settings Gets Material You Redesign Options in Android Devices

Google’s Settings interface also received some new improvements, including the introduction of the Material You Redesign in Android devices. This new feature was launched with Android 12. By redesigning Material U, Google has focused on personalized, user-centric, and adaptable visuals.

This new change will improve the user experience with dynamic color schemes, playful typography, and consistency across systems and apps. Google Settings in Android has also received these design updates, making the interface more intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing. The new design of Material U is based on accessibility.

However, this new change can be seen on Pixel Devices with Android 15 QPR1, in which the Settings app redesign moves the ‘Google’ menu to the top of the list. Google is now also renamed ‘Google Services’. Users will also get two separate buttons for Recommended and All Services. Google’s Settings redesign also includes changes to connected devices and sharing, privacy and security, and autofill and passwords.

Google has revamped its settings interface for all users. The new update makes Settings take up more space than before and also reduces the chances of accidental taps. Additionally, Material U introduces better support for system-wide dark mode, making Google settings easier on the eyes at night or in low-light environments.

The contrast and brightness of this interface automatically adjust according to user preference. Google has also revamped its accessibility settings to make it easier to access options to adjust font size, display size, and colors. This Google Settings redesign will start rolling out soon with Play service version 24.37.34.
