Meta Announcing Ads-free Subscription Scheme For Instagram & Facebook

Meta owns both Facebook and Instagram; both are the basic part of people’s lives in the social media world. Undoubtedly, Facebook made the whole concept of social media fashionable, whereas its brother Instagram completed the rest of the task. But till now, both platforms have remained free for users, flourishing on personalised ads instead. Now, Meta is planning to remove these ads from both platforms. Check out the article for detailed information.
If the reports are to be believed, Meta is planning to remove the ads on Instagram and Facebook. But in this facility, the users have to pay on a monthly basis, what we call a subscription.
According to recent reports, the company Meta is introducing a monthly subscription for users living in Europe, which will offer them an ad-free experience. However, this is an optional scheme. Users who want to experience an ad-free platform can remove each and every ad by just paying the subscription. On the other hand, if the users are okay with personalised ads, they can carry on using the app for free.
Monthly Subscription Price For Ads-Free Instagram & Facebook
- Desktop: Meta brings forward a roughly €10 (~$10.5) monthly fee for using a Facebook or Instagram account on a desktop and about €6 (~$6.3) for each additional linked account.
- Smartphone: For using both the apps ad-free on mobile, the users have to pay €13 (~$13.6) to give accommodation to the commissions charged by Apple and Google’s mobile stores on iOS and Android, respectively.
Noticeably, the plans are labelled as SNA, which stands for Subscription No Ads and have been shared with EU’s privacy regulators for their input. Now, it all depends on the feedback from these regulatory authorities. After that, Meta plans to release these plans in the coming months, but firstly for European users.
However, it’s totally up to the users whether they want to pay to use ad-free Instagram and Facebook or use both platforms for free along with lots of personalised ads.
