The latest Pixel 6 beta brings in GrapheneOS based on Android 12L
GrapheneOS is the second such ROM to give the newest version ahead of Google, after reports that custom ROM project ProtonAOSP offers Pixel 6 customers the ability to run Android 12L ahead of the official stable release.
The GrapheneOS aims to provide greater security measures for smartphones
The GrapheneOS custom ROM project attempts to provide even greater security on your smartphone by using Google’s Titan M2 processor to enable Verified Boot while also adding extra security features. This means that GrapheneOS is confined to Pixel devices, but it’s also worth noting that it doesn’t come pre-loaded with Google applications or services. If you want GMS and all the trimmings, you may manually add them to this Android 12L version.
As per 9to5googleThe GrapheneOS team confirmed on Twitter that all Android 12L modifications have been included in the newest beta release for the Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro. While all other versions on the stable channel have the updated improvements, all Pixels listed will have stable builds shortly.
Given the nature of GrapheneOS, we would not suggest it to anybody other than the most privacy-conscious individuals. You do, however, have another ROM option to install on GrapheneOS that is based on the most recent version of Android 12L.
This means that if you have a Pixel device that is supported, you will get all of the new features as well as the most recent security fixes.
