Samsung is planning to launch a high-end Galaxy device powered by the Dimensity 9000 chip
The Dimensity 9000 is the product of MediaTek’s full-fledged foray into the flagship processor market late last year. It has already appeared in the wild, most notably with Oppo’s Find X5 Pro, which debuted with both a Snapdragon and a Dimensity processor.
If current speculations are to be believed, the chipset will soon be integrated into one of the largest Android OEMs – Samsung.
All speculations and rumors regarding the Samsung device powered by Dimensity 9000
According to a post on Weibo by Chinese tipster, It’s Fat (via Notebookcheck), Samsung is working on a smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. This isn’t the first time that this rumor has been heard. Samsung was previously identified as one of the OEMs that will employ the chip in the future.
The leaked post also stated that this device could come packed with a 4,500 mAh battery. It will range from a price point between 3,000 and 4,000 Chinese yuan (approx. $470-$630 USD).

The original source speculates on the mystery smartphone, speculating that it may be the Galaxy S22 FE or a rumored “Galaxy A53 Pro.” However, no A-series product has been followed by a “Pro” edition yet. So unless Samsung is shifting gears dramatically, such a smartphone is more likely to slot into another tier possibly as a Galaxy A83 or A93.
However, if the Galaxy S22 FE does arrive with this technology, it will be the first time a FE model has used a different chip than its flagship predecessors. It uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 CPUs depending on the market.
Given the facts at hand, it’s probably too early to make genuinely precise forecasts. However, adopting the chip would not be out of the usual for Samsung. As a reminder, last year’s Galaxy A32 5G used a MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor in all markets.
However, consumers who purchase this phone may be in for a treat in terms of performance. Since it has the potential to be almost as good at hitting benchmarks as its immediate Snapdragon/Exynos competition.
