Korean manufacturer Samsung attracts its customers with new innovations in its smartphones. But one of its divisions specializes in the production of hardware components such as processors and photographic sensors.
Samsung is working on the second generation of its 200-megapixel camera sensor. It is not yet clear in which Samsung phone(s) but the component will come commercially under the name ISOCELL HP3.
The sensor is expected to have a 1/1.22″ surface but it is still not known if it will use interpolation technologies to digitally increase its shutter resolution.
It is currently not known which smartphone will make its debut on, but it is safe to expect its arrival on Samsung’s new foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 that are expected to arrive next summer.
