Last week, Samsung released the September 2023 security update to the Galaxy S23 series alongside the One UI 6.0 Beta update. However, the update was limited to some regions. The South Korean firm recently released the September 2023 security update to the Galaxy S22 units.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with firmware versions S901BXXS6CWH6, S906BXXS6CWH6, and S908BXXS6CWH6, respectively. This update is limited to European region phone versions only, and other units have yet to receive the new security update.

As per the changelog, this update brings the latest September 2023 security patch and provides a more secure and active environment. Notably, the changelog adds a number of optimizations and fixes for some critical bugs, which also increase the system’s efficiency.

On the flip side, Samsung disclosed several security vulnerabilities affecting the Galaxy Runtime, Framework, System, and Media Framework. According to Samsung’s documentation, the September 2023 security patch fixes 4 critical, 19 high-level CVEs, and no medium-level CVEs. However, the 8 CVEs do not apply to Samsung devices.

If you use the Galaxy S22 series in Europe, you should be able to download the update by accessing the Settings app on the phone, navigating to “Software Update,” and tapping “Software Update.” And finally, download and install.
