WhatsApp continues working on the new features to help users deliver a seamless experience. These new features are called beta testing and are usually available for a short period of time and only for a small group of people. In a recent development, WhatsApp is working on a new feature called the Third-Party Chats.

According to the information, WhatsApp has started rolling out a new beta update for Android users via the Google Play Store. Users can identify this update throughout version 2.23.19.8. This update showcased that WhatsApp is working on complying with new EU regulations by developing support for chat interoperability with Third-Party Chats.

WhatsApp Third-Party Chats:

WhatsApp’s ‘Third-Party Chats’ feature on Android will allow users to connect and send messages from third-party apps. As a result, users can communicate with users on different platforms without requiring recipients to download WhatsApp to connect with them.

The shared screenshot shows that WhatsApp is working on a new section for third-party chats, and it is still in the development stage. Its interface appears to be blank and not accessible to users, but its title confirms to us that the company is working on it right now.

New EU regulations:

New EU rules show that the EU has recently reached an agreement on an important competition reform called the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This new compliance will impose strict rules on all tech companies, which will have to allow users to communicate with each other using different apps. That’s why WhatsApp has looked to third-party chat features to meet the EU’s Digital Markets Act.
