Microsoft Team Arrives To Android Auto

Microsoft has disclosed it is gearing up to announce the support for Teams, its workplace chat application, on smart driving companion ‘Android Auto’ in February 2024. 

Initially, the application Android Auto was a limited edition with just media and navigation features, but the brand, as per the convenience of the users, delivers a lot of new features through new updates. A couple of months ago, Google started offering more smart home applications, weather applications, and many more applications on the platform, which included the announcement that Microsoft Teams would arrive on the platform; however, there was no exact timeline.

He has already seen that back in September 2023, Zoom launched its Android Auto application, and Webex also arrived within the same week. Those applications were announced along with Microsoft Teams; however, there was still no announcement regarding the plans of Microsoft at the time.

Finally, after a long wait, Microsoft has confirmed a release window. Microsoft has confirmed on the official roadmap that Teams for Android Auto is scheduled to be introduced in February 2024, approximately 9 months after the initial announcement. Microsoft elaborates and explains that the application will be able to make and accept calls through Teams, with no commitment in case it integrates with messages from the service.

TechRadar saw the roadmap addition when it initially went live on January 4. For now, there is again no particular date paired to the rollout, but at least this confirms that anyhow, the thing is going underway. For more information, Microsoft Team has offered a CarPlay application since 2021.
