Google’s Find My Device Network is Rolling Out To Android For Some Users
A while ago, Google introduced a new Find My Device network for Android users. Unfortunately, it got delayed for some indefinite time interval just for the sake of iPhone users. With that, finally, this Find My Device network is beginning to roll out for some early adopters.
Although Google has already scheduled and aimed to significantly roll out the Find My Device network across all Android phone users, allowing users to find lost Android devices in a secure manner, unfortunately, this network has to face a significant delay due to Apple’s implementation of the latest iOS 17.5 build version to its iPhones. With that, Google is finally beginning to roll out its Find My Device network for Android users.
Moreover, it was spotted that Google’s Find My Device network is pushing with the latest Google Play Services beta, which has a 24.12.14 build version, allowing users to easily find offline Android devices. Also, once the users have chosen the option, they will be significantly directed to another page where they will get certain options to choose from, including without network, with the network in high-traffic areas only, and with the network in all areas, with all are described below:
- Without network: This means the device will not be located due to not having a proper network, but it can be located with the help of its recent location at the time it was online.
- With the network in areas with higher usage, this option will allow Android phones to locate the device through the recently stored locations or in certain busy areas such as airports or busy streets.
- With the network in all areas, this option allows Android devices to detect lost devices through recently stored locations, even where there is a low volume of usage.
Google’s Find My Device is not likely to spread widely, but the company is expected to roll out to every user in the coming future. In contrast, this newest setting will be found under Settings >> Security & privacy >> Device finders >> Find My Device once you get the update on your Android phone.
In addition, Google will roll out the Find My Device network to all Android phone users in the future. At the same time, you can experience the latest network by installing the Latest Google Play Service beta Version, version 24.12.14.
