A couple of days ago, Google released the second beta version of its next Android operating system, Android 15, which is significantly packed with plenty of noticeable features. However, some Pixel owners have been receiving a new Adaptive Vibration feature, which Google didn’t mention in the latest Android 15 Beta 2 changelog.

A new ‘Adaptive Vibration’ feature has been spotted on some Pixels running Android 15 Beta 2

It’s weird that some Pixel owners have spotted a new Adaptive Vibration feature running the latest Android 15 Beta 2 build on their devices. However, Google has not mentioned this new feature in the changelog. Meanwhile, this newest adaptive vibration feature has currently appeared on some Pixel 7 Pro and 8 Pro units, which are placed under Settings >> Sound & vibration >> Vibration & haptics >> Adaptive vibration option

This means your Pixel phones will automatically increase their vibration intensity when kept on a cushion or a couch. In contrast, the vibration intensity will automatically be decreased or slowed down when the phone is on the table or any hard surface, allowing customers to listen to their phone’s vibrations very easily.

The feature works with the help of the phone’s microphone and other sensors:

However this feature works with the help of the phone’s microphone and other sensors, but it’s unclear which sensors exactly adjust the vibration intensity. This feature explains that it preserves and protects the privacy of the users, as no data is recorded.
