No one likes to view ad breaks while watching their favourite entertainment; they are unskippable on the one hand while interrupting the user’s browsing experience as well. Meanwhile, Meta has always relied on ads to be under the spotlight. Similarly, the platform is testing a new Ad Break feature on Instagram that will be unskippable, forcing users to view ads for at least a few seconds.

Instagram new Ad Breaks will not be skipped, though

Meta on Instagram as spotted by Reddit users seems to be testing a new feature named Ad Breaks that will not be skipped. This will force users to view these annoying ads for a few seconds, which interrupts their browsing experience while scrolling through their Instagram feed. Plus, sometimes users need to view these Ad Breaks before they can keep scrolling through their Instagram feed. This could be Meta’s new strategy to make more money.

Meanwhile, Instagram seamlessly blends ads into users feeds, and people have become used to it as these ads are sponsored posts, which look like regular content on the feed. However, these kinds of ads or sponsored posts do not interrupt the user’s browsing experience. However, these new Ad Breaks are entirely different as users are significantly forced to view these advertisements for a few seconds, thus interrupting their browsing experience.

The new Ad Breaks feature is currently in its testing phase

As of now, this Ad Break feature on Instagram seems to be limited to some users and is currently in the testing phase. This suggests that Meta has been trying to execute its plan to infuse these advertisements within Instagram, as this could be helpful in making more revenue along with other business standards like in-app purchases and subscriptions.
