Air-Flight Entertainment Meta Quest will get ‘Travel Mode’ in Beta
The Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3 headsets are about to revolutionize your VR experience with a groundbreaking feature. This feature, announced by Mark Zuckerberg on his official account, will enable you to enjoy VR even in moving vehicles, including ships. The beta version of this game-changing feature, ‘Travel Mode’, is set to launch today.
Meta Quest 2 And 3 Travel Mode Feature
A new option will be available, a better experience for moving vehicles. You can easily enjoy your entertainment on the plane or train. This feature makes it easier to use the headset while travelling and ensures that the plane’s motion does not affect your use of the headset.
Meta officially states that “we’ve specially tuned our algorithms to take into account the motion of the airplane, so you’ll have a stable and consistent experience in Travel Mode – even looking out the window. Travel mode is optimized for use on planes to start with and we plan to add support for other modes of transportation like trains in the future.”
You can select this option during “Experimental Features” in Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3 settings. Once you select this option, you can access this travel mode repeatedly through quick settings. Additionally, Meta said it is working on a new partnership with Lufthansa that will see passengers in Lufthansa Allegris Business Class suits use Quest headsets for in-flight entertainment.
The travel mode turns your Quest into the ultimate in-flight entertainment device, allowing you to watch your favourite movies on a giant screen. You can also play the game for a long time. In the future, we will work on developing plans to add support for transportation like trains.
However, by enabling travel mode from quick settings, you must specify which airline you are flying with. Based on this, your device will provide you with features. It can provide various content such as – entertainment, travel, wellness, sports and more, along with custom, dedicated MR content. Hopefully, it can be widely released to all users soon
