This update has been rolled out to Android 15 Beta 4 for Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8a. The changes and fixes in this update are given below –
Since the update, due to a bug in battery power, the battery has always shown 0%, which has now been fixed. Also, the screenshot preview redesign now supports dark themes. Additionally, text contrast can now be maximized and supports high-contrast text. It fixed a contrast-related issue that made reading some elements in the Quick Settings tiles difficult.
On the other hand, an issue was fixed that caused some Pixel devices to be stuck in an unbootable state in rear cases if they were factory reset immediately after installing an OTA system update. An issue was fixed where sometimes an Android Virtual Device using the Android 15 system image would fail to launch in embedded mode.
App notification settings sometimes fail to be restored when restoring the device from a backup, which has also been fixed. The brand has also addressed an issue that prevented users from continuing Face Unlock enrollment when the Pixel Fold device was folded or opened. The update fixes several other issues affecting system stability, connectivity, performance, usability and the camera.
Resolved issues with Bluetooth that prevented the Digital Car Key app from performing low-latency scans when running in the foreground. Made a fix to use a custom UUID instead of the standard HOGP service UUID in the Android head-tracking service. This can use head-tracking codec capabilities to detect transport support in the LE audio stack.
Made a fix to prevent Bluetooth pairing requests from being rejected immediately when there is a mismatch between the API-suggested transport and the transport seen by the Bluetooth stack, improving pairing success rates.
When an app window transitions to picture-in-picture mode on a device, the PIP window disappears if the device is rotated before the transition finishes, and an error page appears when adding an account during device setup.
Android 15 is also included in devices via Android Studio and Tools, including Preview APIs not displayed in the configuration window. In some cases, the latest version of the Android SDK build tools is included to check for updates in Android Studio, including the Android 15 Preview SDK.
The SDK version is not listed in the Target SDK Version and Minimum SDK Version drop-down menus for configuring a new project in Android Studio. An Android Virtual Device (AVD) using the Android 15 System image fails to launch if the AVD is launched in embedded mode.
An issue with the Android Emulator sometimes prevents an app from being deployed to an AVD after the AVD is closed. Also, the device accessibility shortcut is in the Android Emulator, causing multiple Settings app windows to launch. This issue also causes the notification window to flicker when trying to reply.
There are several issues with the Android Emulator. Sometimes, authentication flow fails in apps, and the message “Google Play services have stopped” keeps displaying.
The Android Emulator also has issues that cause the language listed in the System language setting to display the wrong characters, the QR code scanner to display the message “Something went wrong,” and Simpleperf to crash when running CPU profiles.
Additionally, the Android System intelligence keeps hanging when creating a file in Google Docs in the App, and the Google TV app sometimes fails to initiate video playback and instead “Play Movies & TV temporarily.”
