Along with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max were also launched today. The iPhone 16 Pro model has a 6.3-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display. Both screens support a 120Hz refresh rate, are smooth, and have the thinnest bezels ever. The iPhone 16 Pro model is equipped with an A18 Pro chip paired with TSMC’s 3nm processor.
Along with this chip, this device also comes with a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and 16-core neural engine. The A18 Pro offers 15% faster CPU performance and 20% faster GPU speed up than the A17 Pro. At the same time, the triple camera setup in the camera uses a 48 MP fusion camera, 48 MP ultrawide with macro, and 12MP telephoto with 5X Zoom.
However, Apple also announced a new camera control function in this series. A capacitive button called ‘Camera Control’ at the bottom right of the smartphone will allow users to adjust camera exposure, zoom, depth of field, and more. Apart from this, this series will also have ‘Game Mode’ with the iOS 18 update.
This new chipset may provide up to 4 hours of additional battery backup to the iPhone 16 Pro model. It is expected that the iPhone 16 Pro Max can give up to 33 hours of battery backup, and the iPhone 16 Pro can give up to 27 hours of battery backup. In addition, all these devices will also get the iOS 18.1 update with AI and Apple intelligence, including AI writing tools, call summary and transcription, Clean up, Zenmoji, and many other AI features.
The base variant of the iPhone 16 Pro is 128 GB, while the Pro Max is 256 GB. The phones come in four color options – Deep Black Titanium, Bright White Titanium, Natural Titanium, and Desert Titanium. The 128 GB model of the iPhone 16 Pro series will be priced at $999, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be priced at $1199. The pre-orders will start on Friday.
