Material 3 Bottom Bar is Being Tested Again for the Google App
Google is constantly evolving its design to improve the user experience, and now, it includes Material Design. Some first-party clients in the Google app may continue using a smaller bottom bar while lacking dynamic colour theming.
In one of the latest developments, a Material 3-inspired bottom navigation bar is also being tested in the Google app. Google launched Material U in 2014, which sets the standard for user interfaces consistently across Android devices and apps. After developing over the past few years, it has become a more dynamic and personalized design system.
Material U, introduced in Android 12, allows users to customize the new look and feel of the device based on their wallpaper colours. The design language reflects Google’s focus on making the user experience more fluid and consistent.
