Xiaomi 13T series, Xiaomi 13T, and Xiaomi 13T Pro have finally arrived on the market with a bang, featuring a number of characteristics and intuitive technologies. The Chinese tech giant launched both smartphones on 26 September. Usually, the brand ensures to pack a myriad of exciting features, and the newly launched Xiaomi 13T series is no different. Now, the question is whether the Xiaomi 13T series is waterproof or not.

Plus, both phone comes with Leica professional optics, a powerful, efficient 4nm processor, CrystalRes AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, a long-lasting 5000mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge technology and 67W Turbocharging technology, and long-term software support.

IP Ratings:

The IP or Ingress Protection rating is an industry-level standard integrated protection that is given to the device, indicating the device is dust and water-resistant. The first digit following the IP ratings implies that the device has protection against solid particles like dust and dirt. In contrast, the 6, as its first digit, is considered the highest mark of protection against solid particles.

On the other hand, the last digit indicates the device has protection against liquid particles such as water. In case the last digit following the IP rating is 8 then it simply highlights that the device has protection against liquid substances like water splash.

Xiaomi 13T Series: IP68 Ratings:

Now, coming to the Xiaomi 13T series that comes with IP68 ratings, it is determined that both these smartphones are fully dust and water-resistant. In other words, both smartphones can easily handle dust particles and water splashes. The brand has tested the new 13T series under controlled laboratories to IP68 ratings with the sophisticated fuselage technology, which implies that the smartphones can easily handle immersion in up to the maximum depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes.

Do note that the IP68 ratings of the newly launched Xiaomi 13T series are only for freshwater, and you should not exceed the time limit of 30 minutes. Also, the dust and water-resistant capability will be degraded with time due to some wear and tear. Keep in mind not to take the smartphone for several underwater activities as the chemicals and salt present in the water bodies like pools can adversely harm your battery.
