Android 12: Introduce application sleep function
Currently, Android 11 is the latest version of Android and it was launched in 2020. Now Android 12 news has been starting. Google recently submitted a code change to the AOSP project, which added an application sleep service function, which is expected to be implemented in the upcoming version of Android.
The function description shows that the service ” manages application sleep states, applications can enter a state, which means they are not actively used and can be optimized for storage .”
It is not yet certain whether this function will automatically hibernate the application. According to the XDA report, this function will compress the application into APK and related resource files for storage, so as to reduce the storage space of the mobile phone. At the same time, foreign media predicts that the first Android 12 development preview version will be released in more than a month.
