Android 14 Developing Cloned Apps Feature To Pixel Phones

Google released its first Android 14 Developer Preview for Pixel devices on February 08, 2023. Developer Preview 1 will give users a feel for the upcoming operating system. This new preview comes with significant improvements and features to help developers create better apps and experiences for their end users. Here in this article, we are discussing the Hidden feature in the first preview of Android 14 –  Cloned Apps.

At the same time, some Android-based companies provide app cloning facilities. They have different names and slightly different characteristics, but the basic principle is the same. With this feature, you can have two instances of an app, each with a separate account.

For example, it allows you to log in to social networks like WhatsApp, Facebook, and others with two accounts simultaneously. You need to open the correct app to access your desired account.

 Android 14 Cloned Apps:

According to the information, Google is developing the app cloning facilities ability similar to the other smartphone OEMs into Android 14. With the upcoming Android OS, the company is testing a new “cloned apps” feature, allowing you to “create a second space of an app so that you can use two accounts at the same time.”

Unfortunately, since this feature is under development, it is available to a few users. If your part of Android 14 DP1 wants to clone using developer tools, you can follow the steps below, which is a big hurdle for the average user. Therefore, you should not try it on your primary phone. This feature may be made available to users through the Settings app.

  • Navigation to Settings
  • Scroll down and tap on the Apps section
  • Here, tap on the Cloned Apps,
  • Select the App for Dual Apps
