Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro were launched with many exciting new camera features. While not all of them came to the older Pixel phones, some improvements to the Google Camera app usually arrive at some point. That time is now, as the latest version of the Google Camera app brings faster and better Night Sight features to the camera experience on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones.
To recall, the highlight of the Google Pixel March 2023 feature drop was the Google Camera app. It brought a faster and better Night Sight feature to the Pixel 6 series. Thanks to a new algorithm powered by Google Tensor, this feature can capture low-light photos faster on your Pixel 6 series as well.
Google Camera: Night Sight Feature:
The faster Night Sight feature that the US tech giant introduced with the Pixel 7 series last year is being expanded to the Pixel 6 series phones with the March Feature Drop update. This feature improves exposure levels and motion blur issues. Plus, the company says that the Google Camera app will “offer less motion blur because exposures can be up to half as fast as before.“
Moving on, the feature is used for taking pictures or photos in low light conditions without enabling the flash. Pixel 6 series users who have version 8.8 of the Google Camera app now have improved the Night Sight feature.
According to the information, the latest version of the Google Camera application offers better control over exposure time. Tapping on the “Seconds” option on the Night Sight tab will show you a slider on the lower right side of the screen. This slider will allow you to choose between a 1, 2, or 3-second exposure time or Max, which usually goes up to 6 seconds depending on the lighting conditions.
