Android 14 Reaches Platform Stability With Beta 3: Stable Release Imminent
Google continues on to the next phase of the Android 14 development cycle. Today, Google released the Android 14 Beta 3 update, which brings Android 14 to platform stability, meaning that developer APIs and all app-facing behavior are now final for you to review and integrate into your apps.
As always, this latest beta enhances privacy, security, performance, developer productivity, and user customization while continuing to improve the large-screen device experience on tablets, foldable, and more.
According to the information, this is the point where third-party app developers will do a great job of integrating new features into their apps to provide a seamless user experience.
With the Android 14 beta 3, the company introduces several highlighting new accessibility features such as non-linear font scaling up to 200%, privacy upgrades including partial photos/videos access, new animation support in gesture navigation, and features that further align with the OpenJDK 17 LTS release.
If you’re already enrolled in the Android Beta Program, you’ll receive updates to Beta 3 over the air. If not, you can register with an eligible device here. Google has also included the Pixel 7a in the Android 14 beta program.
Currently, the US tech giant is steadily following its roadmap to release its beta program so that the company will release Android 14 beta 4 next month. Also, we can expect a stable Android 14 release between late July and early August. On the flip side, Android partners would release the Android 14 update later this year on their devices.
