Whatsapp starts taking its steps forward towards privacy and security. It has rolled out its latest beta update for Whatsapp Web, which brings up a new privacy feature named as “Screen lock”. Now the users will get more safety and privacy with this enhanced security feature.
Previously it was announced that the brand is preparing something for more security options, and now the beta update is live with Screen lock facility for Whatsapp Web. This new feature helps the users to protect their app from unauthorised access with a password.
Earlier, when the users used to login their Whatsapp through Whatsapp Web on desktop, without logging out it remains logged in always, which increases the chances of unauthorized access. But now this new Screen lock feature provides assurance to the users in this kind of situation. Screen lock option locks the WhatsApp Web, and asks for a password to show the conversation list.
So with this feature without entering the password nobody can access your conversations. However this feature is still in its beta stage and only available for some of the lucky beta testers. But for checking if this enhanced security feature is available in your WhatsApp account, go to WhatsApp Settings >> Privacy. If it is available, then you view a screen lock entry point here.
Once the users enable the option, they will have to enter a password for unlocking WhatsApp web. If the users mistakenly forget the password, they need to log out of WhatsApp Web and again log into by scanning the QR code.
Screen lock feature provides more privacy and safety for WhatsApp Web, so now without entering password an unauthorised access is not possible. This will surely enhance the users security and privacy experience. Moreover for now this is only available for beta testers, but it is expected that soon it will be available to all.
