One of them is the ECG monitor. This feature automatically tracks the irregular heartbeat and gives a notification so that the person gets alerted before becoming a serious issue. Although this feature is disabled by default and you have to enable it manually. Debuted with the Galaxy Watch 6, Irregular heartbeat notifications are one of the most helpful and impressive features. This particular app will work in the background and tracks your heartbeat, whether the person’s heartbeat is irregular or not. In case your heartbeat is found irregular, then the watch will notify you so that you can immediately contact your doctor to prevent any serious issues. 

Apart from this, the new ECG app from Samsung is only compatible with Samsung devices. In other words, if you want to run the ECG app on other Android devices, it will not work at all. Plus, if your Samsung Galaxy smartphone is paired with your Galaxy Watch, only you can turn on the ECG’s irregular heartbeat notifications.

How To Enable Irregular Heartbeat Notifications On Galaxy Watch 6?

If you are a newbie to the ECG app, setting it up is pretty simple. You will be provided with several terms and conditions mentioning that ECG does not provide exact medical results and can’t detect heart attacks. Now, to enable the notifications to follow the process mentioned below:

  1. Open the ECG app on your Galaxy Watch running One UI 5 or later.

  2. Select the Open on Phone option.

  3. Make sure that you have already paired your Galaxy phone with your Galaxy watch.

  4. Now tap Get Started on your Paired smartphone.

  5. Follow on-screen instructions.

  6. Once done and you are back on the home page of the ECG app on your smartphone, head to your Galaxy Watch and open the ECG app.

  7. Next, take an ECG reading.

  8. On the smartphone’s ECG app, here you will see a heartbeat reading and a pop-up card saying, “Get notified when an irregular heartbeat rhythm is detected”. Select Get Started.

  9. Click on the Next option until you see the Turn on button. Tap on it.

  10. That’s it, all set, and you are ready to go.
