In the I/O event held in May 2023, Google talked about some exciting features of the upcoming new version of OS Android 14. The brand introduced a feature that supports the Ultra HDR format for photos and videos, plus it was also revealed that this feature will only be available on a few selected Android phones.

If the reports are to be believed, according to AssemblesDebug, Google is testing a new support named Ultra HDR format, which is a part of Android 14 for Google Photos. This is being speculated because a new build code version was spotted in Google Photos sometime in late August, which appears as v6.51.0.561138754. The code version points out that something is going on regarding Ultra HDR.

Google, in the I/O event, said that this facility will permit the application to seamlessly and smoothly interoperate with HDR images, showing them in standard dynamic range as needed. Ultra HDR is a fresh format Google prepared in Android 14 to promote behind-one affinity with standard file formats like JPG on Android smartphones.

Compared to SDR, HDR provides better images and video quality because it can display a vast range of color or shade choices, and the brightness is different. During the past decade, it appears that manufacturers have increased the convenience of their phones, whether it is to talk by phone call, to travel the whole world through the internet, or to capture the most minor things with the camera, faster performance, new case colors, and many more. With all this, the word ‘Smart’ has now been added to the phone. Now, this new feature of Android 14 will enhance the users’ quality, performance, and experience.
