Samsung Lets You Easily Transfer e-SIM With One UI 5.1

Samsung’s most modern flagship smartphones have started supporting eSIM cards. Noticeably, in many countries, the procedure of activating or transferring as eSIM is complicated and lengthy. The method changes with each carrier. Conversely, Google has been testing to improve the eSIM transfer experience so far. However, the brand has not officially made Android’s eSIM transfer feature; meanwhile, the Korean brand Samsung did it with its One UI 5.1. The latest stable version of One UI provides the facility of both eSIM transfer and pSIM to eSIM converter to the users, which is a convenient enough facility. 

Apple, Google, Samsung, and many other smartphone brands were all in the race to simplify activating or converting an eSIM, and yes! Samsung won the race with its One UI 5.1. Per the post on X shared by Mishal Rahman, Samsung has built a brilliant device-to-device eSIM transfer tool that works between Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The brand also published a webpage comprising all the countries and mobile network carriers who all support the feature. 

How To Transfer eSIM Between Galaxy Smartphone To Another 

To transfer an eSIM between a Galaxy smartphone to another Galaxy smartphone, it is recommended the users follow a step-by-step method mentioned below; before following the steps, the users must ensure that their device runs on One UI 5.1 Plus also has a secure look to make this feature work; 

  • Go to Settings of the Galaxy smartphone, where users want to transfer an eSIM, Plus navigation to Connections >> SIM Manager >> Add eSIM. 
  • Click Other ways to connect to a mobile network. 
  • Click on Transfer SIM from another device. 
  • Now, the users have to Unlock an old smartphone and an eSIM one and place it beside the new phone. 
  • Finally, click on Transfer on the new phone. 

On Galaxy Smartphones, How To Convert A Physical SIM To eSIM 

  • Launch the Settings app on your phone.
  • Go to Connections > SIM Manager.
  • Click on the name of your physical SIM card 
  • Then tap on Convert to eSIM.
  • On the pop-up menu, click on Convert to eSIM.
