Google Chat Get Colorful New Logo Soon
Previously, back in May, a new logo for Google Chat was spotted. However, it did not get revealed along with the home screen redesign, which also added Duet AI and Audio huddles a couple of months later. There was a lot of curiosity among the public about exactly what the Google Chat logo will look like. And now, finally, the latest version of the new Google Chat logo has leaked. Let’s take a closer look.
Presently, the logo of Google Chat was introduced along with the Workspace redesign in 2020. The brand also gave a new touch with four colours to Gmail, Drive, and Meet, on opposite sides. That remained light green in a nod to Hangouts with overlapping message bubbles.
Since Google Chat is on the way to receive a major renovation, a new logo makes sense to bring it in line with many other productivity applications. During a presentation in May, Google revealed a brand-new logo, which is filled with six colours.
A New Google Chat icon is filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office. Google Chat is not mentioned, but the listing makes reference to “Download instant messages software.”
Regarding this new logo, Google stated that the logo consists of a hollow multi-coloured square “Speech bubble’ ‘ bounded by three round corners, and the upper right corner appears as flattened in red colour. On the parallel side, the left upper corner is in a blue line, followed by a dark blue square with a rounded corner at the top right. The bottom right corner and side are filled by green rounded lines followed by a dark green square placed at the bottom left corner. The topmost rectangle container is filled with yellow colour.
It appears that in this brand-new icon, green is the primary colour, along with a few blue and yellow, but the red is negligible. The outline of the logo is a chat bubble, but there’s a second one at the centre. Also now the shape of both chat bubbles is identical enough.
However, this new innovation is yet to roll out widely, but it is expected that over the coming months, the company will release it.
