The Google Workspace update is out now. The official feed of the Google Workspace team provides crucial information regarding new features and improvements.
With this update, the company is introducing the general availability of an improved Google Vault audit log experience. Due to this change, users are now able to find Vault audit logs in the Admin console alongside other Google Workspace applications such as Gmail, Google Drive, and many more.
However, early in January, Vault audit logs can be accessed by Reports API, which the users can use to actively monitor Vault usage of their domain’s.
Now, the location and functionality of Vault audit logs, alongside other Workspace applications, create a consistent experience for admins and also bring down the need to search for information in various locations.
Meanwhile, the access and visibility of Vault audit logs will stay the same and will also continue to require “manage audits” permission. The Vault audit logs can be accessed from the Vault reports and matter audits links as well as from the Admin Console.
Whereas the company will roll out this new change gradually from 4th December 2023. It is available to Google Workspace Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Essentials Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Standard, Education Plus customers, or customers along with the Vault add-on license.
