After this update, you can join as a guest on your mobile phone without any Google account. Participants can use the Calendar invite, meeting code, or link supplied beforehand to join a Google Meet as a guest.

People who want to join must enter their name and “knock” to access. Upon receiving the host’s or meeting host’s approval, attendees can easily access the room. Admins can choose whether or not to enable guests to meet at the domain level.

For meeting hosts, there is an option to set the Meeting access type as “Open,” eliminating the need for participants to knock, and anyone with the meeting link can join directly. This provides a convenient and efficient way to conduct meetings without unnecessary delays.

Guests looking to join a video meeting without a Google account can find additional information in the Help Center.

This feature is currently available on iOS, while Android users are available on iOS, and Andriod users can expect a gradual rollout starting from January 17, 2024, with up to 15 days for full feature visibility.

The functionality is accessible to all Google Workspace customers, Google Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
